Rescue workers devastated to find body of boy drowned in lake
The search for a 6-year-old boy ended Sunday when rescue workers found his body in Smith Mountain Lake. The boy, who could not swim, was last seen standing on the edge of a dock without a life vest. The search lasted more than three hours and included people searching on land and in the water before divers found the body.

Forums set to discuss young adults and drunk driving
There will be two community forums in Lynchburg this month to inform the public of a new campaign against drunk driving among young adults. Between 2006 and 2008, there were 115 car accidents in Lynchburg as a result of drunk drivers. This new campaign hopes to decrease this number by 10 percent, but the details are still being discussed.

Churches Seeking Funds for Special Needs Home
The United Methodist Church network is unable to pay off their bills for one of their Heart Havens home. This network has been building homes all over Virginia for people with mental and physical disabilities. The community has not been giving as much to this network and as a result the projects have been slowing down.
